Thomas “Mac” Walton, Sr.

RALEIGH- Thomas Lacy McCoy Walton, Sr., 81, passed away on Friday. A native of Wake County, he was the son of the late Louis and Viola Stone Walton. Thomas was a veteran, who proudly served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. Later in life, Thomas retired from Goodmark Food Distributors where he worked as a mechanic for 16 years. He was a member of Hayes Chapel Church which he loved dearly. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Hayes Chapel Christian Church, Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 1:00-200 pm at the church prior to the service. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Marie Penny Walton; daughter, Bernadette Walton of Apex; son, Thomas “LM” Walton, Jr. of Raleigh; step-daughters, Diane Pangborn of Carthage, Deborah Moss of Winterville; sisters, Annette Taylor of Seven Lakes and Becky Davis of Leland;  four step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Walton and John Walton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hayes Chapel Church in Garner NC or to the Gideons Association.
