Thomas Reid Williams, 66, of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, March 25th 2018 after a 13 year fight with cancer. Tom is the son of the late Kenneth Earl and Joy Stillwell Williams of Angier, NC. He grew up in Angier, North Carolina and graduated from Angier High School. He is also a graduate of North Carolina State University where he studied engineering. He was employed for 21 years with CP&L. He then became the owner and operator of Triangle Home Services where he was a home inspector, engineer, contractor, and educator. Tom is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Broadwell Williams, children, Jason Williams (Joanie); Virginia Tran (David); and Jonathan Williams (Lindsay); five grandchildren, Joy Kate, Nora, & Lacey Williams, Banks & Lila Tran; and brother, Kinney Williams (Mary Edna). Tom was a committed and proud husband, dad, granddad, brother, and friend. He loved spending time with his family water skiing, working on theatre projects, volunteering at Wake Christian Academy, visiting the state fair, and watching Wolfpack football and basketball games. He enjoyed many decades of singing with barbershop quartets, Masters Men, Close Harmony doo-wop group, and his Church choir. His heart was always the fullest when he was singing with his friends lifting praises to the Lord. Tom faithfully served the Lord through many activities and services. He was an active member of Woodhaven Baptist Church where he served on many building teams, church committees, special projects, and fundraising efforts with his church and other non-profit organizations. He was also an active deacon. A celebration of life will be held at Woodhaven Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 28th at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Angier Memorial Cemetery. The Reverend Dave Stratton will be officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 12:00-1:45 PM prior to the service at the church. Mr. Williams will be lying in state at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier on Wednesday, March 28th from 9:00-10:00 AM for anyone that would like to visit and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Baptists on Missions (formally NC Baptist Men), P.O. Box 1107 Cary, NC 27512.
