Thurman Eugene Hughes

RALEIGH – Gene was born in Paducah, Ky. And was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He served as a medic in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Freeman Hughes, his children Mary Valkenaar (Tom), Cynthia Barcomb, Craig Hodges (Shannon), Lt. Col. Kenneth Hodges (Wendy), Teresa Hodges (Jeff Bryant), grandchildren Carol Richard, Amy Barcomb, Eric Barcomb, Chris Hodges (Kenzie Eudy) Karie Hodges (Jamie Howington), Haley Hodges, Allison Patterson (Shawn), Emily Hodges, Tyler Hodges, Brennan Hodges and three great grandchildren, sister Shirley Schuller. Also Angela Hodges Memorial service will be 3:00 pm Tuesday Dec. 2, Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM prior to the service. The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of Elmcroft-Heartland II and to their hospice teams.
