Timothy Joseph Mcgee

Raleigh - Tim McGee drew his last breath on Monday night, at Glencare of Pink Hill, NC. He has gone on to be with Jesus and be reunited with friends and loved ones who have gone on before him.Tim grew up in Raleigh and attended school in Garner. He was a NASCAR race fan and raced his own Chevy #42 at the Wake County Speedway back in the ‘70s and early ‘80s. He made his living as an auto body mechanic up until 1984 when at the age of only 32 years he suffered a cerebral aneurysm which left him basically unable to speak or eat and with some brain dysfunction. His mother lovingly cared for him for seventeen years in her home until in 2001 when he had to leave her care due to her declining health. He was since cared for at Dorothea Dix Hospital in Raleigh and then was transferred in 2005 to Warsaw, NC and lastly to Pink Hill. He and his mom were able to be reunited again for several months in the Warsaw facility before her passing in 2007.Tim is predeceased by his mother, Emma Jordan McGee and his father, Maylon J. McGee. He is survived by a host of first cousins including his co-guardians, Phyllis Jordan Marlette and Beverly Jordan Guthrie.He will be buried at Hayes Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, Garner. Interment will be private.
