Timothy Wayne Bartholomew

Timothy Wayne Bartholomew, 66, died unexpectedly at 6:30 PM, Wednesday, June 20, 2018. He was born December 11, 1951. Tim attended Wingate College where he played basketball. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a business degree and a love of all things Carolina. Besides the Tar Heels, Tim enjoyed the outdoors. His yard was immaculate and was the envy of the neighborhood. His grilling skills were legendary. He also loved his friends and co-workers from his long-term careers at Winn Dixie and Lever Brothers. Above all, Tim loved and adored his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin “Bart” Bartholomew and brother, Richard “Dick” Bartholomew. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 41 years, Kaye Jackson Bartholomew. Their’s was a model marriage that was an inspiration for their children and all who knew them. Left behind to carry on his legacy are his children, Whitley (Kristen) Bartholomew and Beth (Joseph) Hans and his grandchildren Ryker, Miles and Nolan Hans, and Everette Bartholomew. He is also survived by his mother, Sarah Bartholomew and brother, Larry (Mary) Bartholomew, and many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018, 3:00 PM, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Rd., Raleigh, 27604 with visitation one hour prior to service. . In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the UNC Alumni Association.
