RALEIGH – Tommy Lee Holcomb, 83, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024.
He was born in Surry County on April 10, 1941, the son of the late Ernest William Holcomb and Bernice Vanhoy Holcomb. A proud veteran, Tommy honorably served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War, serving from March 1966 until his discharge in December 1967. After his military service, Tommy returned to his work with Mitchell Distributing Company where he dedicated 42 years of employment, retiring from what became Linder Industrial Machinery in 2006.
In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his brother, Benny Holcomb.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Watkins Holcomb; sons, Abel Holcomb and wife, Priscilla, Andrew Holcomb, and Christopher Holcomb; daughter, Shannon Green; grandchildren, Mason Holcomb and Teagan Holcomb; sister, Linda Taylor and husband, Ken; brothers, Charles Holcomb, Larry Holcomb and wife, Wanda; and a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 19, 2024, in the Veterans’ Section at Montlawn Memorial Park (2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603), with military honors.
