Tony Clarke

Morton Anthony “Tony” Clarke, 64, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away Saturday.  Born in Richmond County, he was the son of the late Morton C. and Margaret Lawrence Clarke. He attended Enloe High School and retired as a conductor from Norfolk Southern Railway. Tony made friends wherever he went, had a contagious sense of humor and could always make you smile.   His family was his world and his passing leaves a void that can never be filled.      Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Aversboro Road Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.     He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rhonda King Clarke; son, Christopher Clarke of Garner; daughter, Ashley Clarke Joyner of Raleigh; grandchildren, Devin Clarke, Brock Clarke and Haleigh Joyner; sister, Linda Calloway and husband, Warren of Raleigh; sisters-in-law, Joan Clarke of Garner and Constance King of Nevada; his special nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as his companions, Bo, Shadow and granddog, Hannah.    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Lynn Clarke and son-in-law, Jason Joyner.   The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner and at other times at the home of Ashley Joyner, 4729 Swordfish Dr., Raleigh.  Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2418 Blue Ridge Rd, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27607.
