Vance Jb Mcdaniel

Garner-Vance JB. McDaniel, 89, passed away on Thursday at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.  He was born in Trenton, NC to the late Edward E. and Myra S. McDaniel.   Vance  served in the US Navy in the Pacific from 1945 to 1948 and he was a member of the American Legion Post 232 and retired from the Dept. of Transportation in 1987 as Director of Purchasing and a graduate of Campbell University. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Reapa M. McDaniel and two sons, Danny V. McDaniel and his wife Pat of Charlottesville, VA, Michael S. McDaniel and his wife Martha Ann of Clayton; sister, Doris Burkett of Trenton; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Montlawn Memorial Park , Raleigh, NC with military honors.
