Vara Hayes Fish

Willow Spring- Vara Hayes Fish ,90, passed away Tuesday at her home. Born in Johnston county, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Susie Hayes. She married Arthur Ray Fish, Jr. on February 3, 1950; they were married 30 years before his passing in January 1980. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 30th at 11:00 AM at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Fuquay-Varina. The family will receive friends at other times at Varas home. She is survived by two sons, Nelson R. Fish and wife, Robin of Willow Spring, Homer L. Fish of Willow Spring; grandchildren, Rob Fish (Laura), Amber Johnson (Scott), Alicia May (Kevin) and Ray Fish (Tara); 12 loved and cherished great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Vara was preceded in death by an infant brother, Sherrill Hayes. The family would like to say a special thank you to Lilies of Hope Care Agency and their caregivers. A special thank-you to her life-long friend, Barbara Porter, who faithfully visited weekly and brought her delicious desserts.
