Annette was born on a tobacco farm in Willow Springs, the sixth child of Grady D Rowland and Lunette Weatherspoon Rowland. After graduating from Fuquay High School in 1954, she began employment at Wachovia Bank (now Wells Fargo) and retired after 39 years of service, after which she worked 13 years with the NC State Bureau of Investigation . Annette is survived by her beloved children, daughter Dina Ibrahim, of Cary, sons Donald M Edwards Jr. (Jan) of Wendell, and Anthony D Edwards (Krystle) of Texas, brother Homer D Rowland of Willow Springs and sister Catherine R Dunn of Fuquay-Varina; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Coralene Davis, Rebecca Rowland, Celia Gomez and Mary Betts and brother Dewey H Rowland. Annette walked by faith and her Savior and her church family were central to her life. She was an encourager, a nurturer, always had a positive attitude, and looked for ways to serve others - as her license plate reflected, “LUVEVRY1”. She was an avid animal lover and rescued many. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her stories and comments kept her family and friends laughing through the years. Annette was an inspiration and a light in the lives of everyone around her and she will be greatly missed by all of us who were privileged to know her.
