Verneil Lamar Emerson

Verneil Lamar Emerson, 89, passed away on June 22, 2020. A native of Arkansas, Verneil was the son of the late Arnold and Carna Emerson. Verneil worked in the grocery business for many years as a Retail Manager. Also he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Along with his parents, Verneil was preceded in death by his brother, John Emerson. Also preceded in death by the mother of his children Jacquelyn Emerson. He is survived by a daughter; Janet Emerson-Miller and husband Kibben Miller; son, Michael Emerson and wife Lisa; sisters; Geraldine Burton and husband Richard, Marlene Helton and Arvenna Hamilton and husband Rodney; brother Carroll Emerson and wife Beth; grandchildren, Tyler Emerson and wife Alyssa and Hailey Emerson and great-granddaughter, Scarlet Emerson and a great-granddaughter on the way. The family will be having a private graveside service at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro with Military Honors.
