Nell Young Partin

On an ordinary day, an extraordinary woman departed this world for her heavenly home. Nell Young Partin passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on January 22, 1934, Nell's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, unshakeable optimism, and unconditional love for all those around her.

Nell was a fierce and determined individual, but her tough exterior belied a heart of gold. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends, family, the elderly, and others in need in her community. Her selfless spirit and unwavering commitment to caring for others inspired countless people and left a lasting impact on her community.

Throughout her professional life, Nell was employed by Westinghouse Electric Corporation (now ABB) from 1963 until her retirement in 1991.

Nell was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Ava Stephenson Young; her beloved grandmother, Ida Young, who selflessly raised Nell and her six siblings after their mother's passing; her son, Steve Partin; and her siblings, Allie Deal, James Young, Owen Young, Ethel Thomas, and Euba Stephenson. Nell is survived by her twin daughters, Jane Warren and Jean Melton, of Garner, NC; her grandchildren, Erin McGowan (Paul) of Knoxville, TN, and their son Mason, Jeremy Melton of Tampa, FL, Kristen Domeracki (Michael) of Durham, NC, and Steven Partin of Angier, NC; her sister, Alva Moore, of Raleigh, NC; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Nell's life will be held on Saturday, March 29, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier, NC. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am.
