Vicki Gaskin Stephens

ANGIER– Vicki Gaskin Stephens, 70, passed away on Sunday at her home. A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late James Clarence Gaskin and Gertha Baker Gaskin. Vicki was a 1967 graduate of Buies Creek High School. She worked for Cooper Tools for over 40 years before retiring. Being retired meant that she could focus on things that she loved to do like reading a good book, watching her grandbabies in their many activities and cook for family and friends. Her home always seemed to be a gathering place where time could be spent laughing, eating and enjoying the company of those around her. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 2nd at 1:00 PM at Angier Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Harnett Memorial Park, Lillington. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Vicki is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Dewey Stephens; sons, Derek Stephens (Erika) of Castle Hayne, Christopher Stephens (Raelynn) of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Suvon Gandy (Dewayne) of Angier; grandchildren, Ashley Parker, Brittany Parker (Kyle), Taylor Yarbrough (Jackson), Noa Stephens, Halle Stephens; great-grandchildren, Cole, Olivia, Avery, Kane, Jude and Penelope; son-in-law, Robert “Bud” Parker of Benson; sister-in-law, Jeneane Birdsong (Boyd) of Shreveport, LA, Barbara Henries (Max) of Angier; brother-in-law, Ray Short of Whiteville and Danny Stephens of Angier. In addition to her parents, Vicki was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Michelle Stephens Parker; sisters, Ollie Faye Mangum and Martha Carole Short; brother, James Carl “J.C.” Gaskin; brother-in-law, James Mangum.
