Victor Collazo, Jr.

CARY – Victor Collazo, Jr., 82, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

He was born in Manhattan, New York on September 1, 1940. Victor honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force, from which he was honorably discharged. Later in life, Victor went to work with IBM in Raleigh, retiring as a Procurement Manager.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Tomasita and Octavio Lafuente.

He is survived by his loving wife, Penelope Collazo; sons, Larry Hardesty (Josie) of Slippery Rock, PA, William Hardesty (Dixie) of Yelm, WA, Robert Hardesty (Jill) of Woodbridge, VA, Peter Collazo of Raleigh, Randy Collazo (Vicki) of PA, and Victor Collazo, III of NY; grandchildren, Devin, Zachary, Joshua, Madison, Mason, Ellie, Leah, Maxwell, Cole, and Wyatt; and a host of friends.

There will be a quiet graveside service for the family to be held at 1:00 PM in the Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh, where Victor will be laid to rest in the Field of Honor alongside his military brothers and sisters.
