Virginia “Ginger” Ledford

Virginia “Ginger” Ledford, 87, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Ginger was born in Bassett, VA, on July 30, 1933, to the late Early Clifton and Annie Laura Byrd Bange. She was a whiz when it came to crossword puzzles and loved watching Jeopardy, leaving her family speechless as she answered, more often than not, correctly. She loved The Master’s golf tournament and would watch from beginning to end. Ginger was also an amazing cook and enjoyed sharing family meals. She will forever be missed. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 2pm in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. Entombment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton. Ginger will lie in state for an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Ginger is survived by her children, Vicki Ledford, Cathy Williams, and Doyle Ledford, Jr. and wife, Lucy; grandchildren, Renee Austin and husband, Kurt and Justin Scott and wife, Elizabeth; Great Grandchildren, Cameron Ranilovich, Colton Ranilovich, Olivia Austin, Cruz Austin, Carson Scott, Madison Kennedy, Michael Sloan, and John Sloan; and a sister Patricia Swann and husband, Chuck. In addition to her parents, Ginger was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Palmer Ledford, Sr.; grandchildren, Sherrie Sloan and Dawn Mace; sister, Dorothy Smith; brothers, Eugene and Jack Bange; and her beloved Yorkie, Brute.
