Virginia T. (Ginny) Harrell

Virginia (Ginny) T. Harrell, 78, became a heavenly angel on October 27, 2018. Ginny was born on May 6, 1940 to Earl A. and Bertha B. Tallman in Buffalo, NY. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert K. Harrell of Raleigh; her brother Harold B, Tallman of Aiken, SC; four children: Candace Harrell-Parker (Scott) of Youngsville, Karen H. Hodges (Chris) of Franklinton, Christopher B. Harrell of Durham, and Curtis T. Harrell (Joanna) of Wake Forest; seven grandchildren; and one great grandson. She was a 1962 graduate of Winthrop College and taught elementary school in Greenwich, CT, Brunswick, GA, Monroe, GA, and she was a Teacher’s Assistant at North Ridge Elementary in Raleigh in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Ginny loved her children and grandchildren and she loved spending time with them. She and her husband enjoyed going to the beach at Surf City, NC as often as possible. A service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Millbrook United Methodist Church in Raleigh at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mike Frese officiating. Family will receive visitors immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association. Bryan-Lee funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
