Wayne C. Coats

ANGIER - Wayne Carl Coats, 92, retired owner and operator of Electric Sales and Service, died Friday. A life long resident of Angier, he was the son of the late William Amos Coats, Sr. and Dessie Stephenson Coats. He was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church, Angier OES Chapter 351 and Angier Masonic Lodge 686 where he served as master in 1951. Having been a master mason since 1948, he was a member of the Scottish Rite and Sudan Temple Shrine. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Rachel Morris Coats. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Trinity Baptist Church, Angier. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites. Surviving: a daughter, Phyllis Coats of Angier and a son, Morris Coats of Angier; sisters, Valeria Coats Adams of Angier and Coma Lee Coats Currin and her husband, Nelson of Coats. The family will be at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier, 3:00 - 5:00 PM and at other times at the home.
