Wetona Woodcock Warren transitioned from this world into the arms of Jesus on April 20, 2021. She was born on September 12, 1942, in Darlington, SC to the late Troy Curtis and Ruby Conyers Woodcock. The family moved to Benson, NC in the early 1950’s where she was raised prior to graduating Benson High School in 1961. Wetona moved to Raleigh, NC to attend King’s Business College. After graduation, she worked for the City of Raleigh, where she spent her entire career before retiring after 34 years. She was a proud member of the City of Raleigh Quarter Century Club. In 1968, she married the love of her life, Dewey Hinton Warren. They were united in marriage for 46 years and the proud parents of their daughter, April. She was a devoted wife and mother. Wetona truly had a servant’s heart. Throughout her life, she looked for areas to share the ministry of Jesus Christ and the love of the Savior. She attended Temple of Pentecost and served where needed. She also participated in various ministries throughout her life such as the bus ministry and various children and senior ministries. She made many lifelong friends while serving in the bus ministry at Mid-Way Baptist Church. Wetona would visit the rehabilitation centers to visit those who didn’t have family to check on them. She had an eye for a person in need and would look to bless those who needed to feel the love of Jesus. Her ministry gifts allowed Wetona to become a spiritual mother and mentor to many. Wetona was proceeded in death by her husband of 46 years, Dewey, her parents and her three brothers, Troy, Larry and Phillip. She is survived by her daughter, April Warren; her sister, Rachel Norris; several sister in-laws, many nieces and nephews and her beloved grand-dog Evie. While Wetona’s family celebrates her life, they are choosing to remember Wetona in a way that honors her spirit. Flowers are welcome or contributions can be made to Temple of Pentecost Missions Fund. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Temple of Pentecost. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 11:00 am – 11:50 am prior to the service.
