Wilbert “Shorty” Norris

September 12, 1938 — November 21, 2014

Angier – Wilbert “Shorty” Glenn Norris, 76, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. A native of Harnett County, Shorty was the son of the late James and Esther Barbour Norris. Funeral Service will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Angier Fellowship Church, Angier. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier. Shorty is survived by his daughters, Penny Reynolds of Angier, Gwen Pleasant and husband, Alan of Angier; sisters, Ruby Baker, Ruth Beasley, Betty Norris, Katherine Searcy, Janice Sais, Mary Owens; a brother, Aaron Norris; grandchildren, Jonathan Matthews, Anna Jo Koch and husband, Joshua, Paige Dorman and husband, Johnathon; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Erica Matthews; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Shorty is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Lena Norris; sisters, Lovenia Hamilton, Christine Norris; brothers, John Norris, Robert Norris and Avant Norris. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made in Shorty’s memory to Angier Fellowship Church, 100 Tippett Rd. Angier, NC 27501.
