RALEIGH - Wilbur Jennings Sam Jackson, 83, a retired farm manager of the Dorothea Dix Hospital and owner of Jacksons Wrecker Service, died Sunday. A native of Sampson Co., he was the son to the late Dewey and Lois Fisher Jackson.He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Tew Jackson in 1991. Sam enjoyed life to the fullest.He enjoyed grilling and meeting with the 41 Club.He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, driving his truck and being around friends and family.Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner.Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.Surviving: a daughter, Sue Jackson Wall and husband, Glen of Garner; son, Kent Jackson and wife, Donna of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren, Michelle Bumgarner and husband Jeff of Holly Springs, Derek Wall of Smithfield and Brittany Jackson of Fuquay-Varina; great-grandchildren, Justin Bumgarner and Anna Wall; brother, Robert F. Jackson and wife, Betty of Roseboro and a special friend, Mary Alice Womble.The family will be at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner, 6 - 8pm, Tuesday and at other times at the home of Kent and Donna Jackson, 5309 Hilltop-Needmore Road, Fuquay-Varina.Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Assn., 400 Oberlin Road, Raleigh, NC27605 or to Hospice of Wake Co. 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
