Raleigh- Wiley B. Dickerson, 91 of Raleigh died Tuesday evening at the Oaks of Mayview Healthcare Center. He was born in Oxford, NC to the late Wiley O. and Melissie Kearney Dickerson. He served in the Army during WW II and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.He was the owner of Wileys Save on Gas for several years and employed at Carolina Country Club until his 80th birthday. He enjoyed working and had a strong work ethic. He attended Crossroads Fellowship and Temple Baptist Church and a member of American Legion Post 1 in Raleigh.Surviving wife, Doris Anderson Dickerson; son, Steve Dickerson; daughter, Sandra Leonard and husband Woodrow; stepson, Larry Teel and wife Gail; sister, Mrs. Evelyn Evans of Oxford; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a son, R. Craig Dickerson and his eleven brothers and sisters.A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 1 in Raleigh, P.O.
