William A. Whitfield, Jr.

William A. Whitfield, Jr., 79, passed away on October 8, 2023.  A native of Hyde County, William was born August 9, 1944, to the late William Arnold, Sr., and Bertha Spencer Whitfield.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 1:00 P.M., in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612. The family will receive friends from 12-12:50, at the funeral home.

William is survived by his wife, Beatrice Whitfield; children, Vivian, Braxton, and Christopher (Michelle) Whitfield; grandchildren, Makayla Lewis (William) and Braxton Gage Whitfield; great grandson, Liam Lewis; sisters, Maria Olivo, Frances Overton, and Jean Overton; brother, Wilburn Whitfield; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
