William “Bill” Casterton

December 23, 1942 — September 17, 2017

ANGIER – William “Bill” Casterton, 74, passed away on Sunday at his home. A native of Winneshiek County, Iowa, he was the son of the late Norman Leslie Casterton and Gena Josephine Rauk Casterton.  Bill served proudly in the US Army from 1962-1965. After his military service he worked for many years with IBM as a machinist. Bill enjoyed working with his hands, especially tinkering on his El Camino. He was also a huge fan of Nascar. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Angier. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Casterton, special niece, Cindy Adams (Robyn) of Charleston, SC and their children, Christopher of Benson, Maloree of Wilmington and Cullen of Charleston, SC; brothers, Robert H. Casterton (Sylvia) of Readlyn, IA, and  Charles D. Casterton (Mary) of Decorah, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contrubutions may be made to Liberty HomeCare and Hospice Services, 105 Hunt Valley Dr. Dunn, NC 28334 in Bill’s memory.
