William C. Marlatt, 80, passed away January 8, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Dr. Marlatt was a veterinarian in Garner for 46 years. He received his undergraduate degree from Penn State U. and his VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvannia in 1959. He also served his country in the U.S. Army. There will be a memorial service at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. The family will receive friends after the service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chauncey and Dorothy Marlatt and a sister, Mary Jane Gastgeb. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Thelma R. Marlatt; daughter Kim M. Marcom and husband Joe; sons William C. Marlatt, II and wife Beth Ann, Jeff C. Marlatt and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Ryan White, Zach Marcom, Isabella Marlatt and Trevor Marlatt; a nephew, David Gastgeb and wife Kathy, nieces Ruth Ryan and husband Tim, Debbie Downey and husband Alfred; and six grand nieces and nephews; and by his beloved Golden Retriever, Josee.
