William D. Upchurch

Raleigh-Dan Upchurch, 83, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017. Dan was born February 27, 1934 in Franklin County, NC to the late Linwood and Bobbie Upchurch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Julie Sykes Upchurch. Dan was a member of Hayes Barton Baptist Church. He spent his career as a floral designer locally and abroad. During his retirement, one of his favorite activities was serving as a docent at the North Carolina State Capital. The family will celebrate his life at a private graveside service on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Peachtree Baptist Church cemetery in Spring Hope, NC. He is survived by sons, Gary Upchurch and wife, Frances of Greensboro; Gregory Upchurch and wife, Tania of Wilmington. Grandchildren: Allison Williams and husband, Ragan and great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Julie Gray Williams; Sarah Payne and husband, Ellis, and great-grandson, Sykes Payne.
