ZEBULON - William E Anderson (Buddy, Andy), 82, of Zebulon, North Carolina died Friday, December 1st, 2017. William was born on May 4th, 1935 in Bonham, Texas to the late John C. and Allie E. Anderson.  He was the husband of the late Joan E. Anderson of Jamestown, Rhode Island. He served his country honorably for many years, serving two tours of duty in the Navy from April 1954 to August 1962.  During this time he met and married his wife Joan while stationed in Hawaii.  After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he continued his service by joining the Rhode Island National Guard from which he was discharged in April of 1976. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier and postal clerk for twenty-four years for the Jamestown branch, retiring in 1992 with the expressed intent of making sure his wife did not get to have all the fun babysitting their grandchildren. He leaves behind his brother, Wayne Anderson (Nora), and sisters, Stella Alexander (Clovis) and Evelyn Stephens (Harold), all of Bonham, Texas; his two daughters, Brenda Miller (Randy) and Donna “Susie” Lensen, both of North Carolina; and four grandchildren, Michael Miller (Mary), Jason Miller (Lisa), Trevor Lensen (Brent), and Troy Lensen; as well as three great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Grayson and Quinn Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Anderson, and his beloved wife of 58 years, Joan E. Anderson. He was a doting husband, father and grandfather.  His grandchildren were always the joy of his life.  He was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be missed deeply. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 9, from 5 until 7 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh 27604.  There will be a flag presentation ceremony at 6 PM.
