William Felton Johnson

April 1, 1929 — July 6, 2015

William Felton Johnson, 86, died Monday at Duke Raleigh Hospital. He was the son of the late William Johnson and Esther Massengill Johnson. A man of few words, he was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. A veteran of the US Air Force, he served as a Deacon and financial secretary at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church for many years. He loved to watch and feed wild birds and spending family time at the beach. He enjoyed eating out with family and friends and hosting oyster stews at his home. Felton loved watching all sports and TV news programs.  Funeral services at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Thursday 11:00 AM with burial in the church cemetery.  Felton is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Holloway Johnson; daughters, Julia Johnson Albertson (Ronnie) of Trinity, Dawn Johnson Tiller (Michael) of Garner; grandchildren; Cameron Beam, Candice Albertson Leonard (Casey), Randy Albertson (Sunny), Scotty Albertson (Lawana), Susan Albertson O’Daniel (J.P.) and Kasey Tiller; great grandchildren, Talan, Bailey, Carson, Logan, Will, Madison, Destiny, Kolby and Madison; brother, Gene Clifton Johnson (Peggy) of Garner and numerous nieces and nephews.  Family will receive friends at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner 6-8 PM Wednesday.  Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Bldg. Fund or Audio fund. 3000 E. Garner Road Raleigh, NC 27610.
