William Francis Alexander

January 25, 1969 — April 1, 2024

Bill Alexander - beloved son, brother, father, step-father, husband and friend - died at home on Monday, April 1.

He is resting in Heaven now with God the Father, in peace.

Bill was born on January 25, 1969 in Rochester, NY to Ralph and Sandy Alexander. He looked just like his mother.

His brother Wade came along a couple of years later, and when Bill was just 3 years old, the boys lost Sandy to

cancer. Sandy and Bill have a lot of catching up to do.

Bill spent most of his “growing up years” in NY. When Bill was about 15, his father moved their family, which

now included Bill’s late stepmother Kathleen, to the Greensboro, NC area. He struck out on his own a few years

later, meeting his 1st wife Kathy and starting a family. His proudest moments were when his daughters Ashley

(1990), Melissa (1994) and Kimberly (2000) were born, followed closely by the birth of his grandson Adam just 2

years ago. He was so very proud to be their dad and Grandpa.

At age 19, Bill applied for a job in the security industry and turned that entry-level position into a 36-year career.

He went from pulling cable in dusty crawl spaces to complete system installation, individual project management,

and management of national commercial customer accounts. Bill worked for several nationally known security

companies over the years, most recently Johnson Controls Security Solutions where he spent just short of 10 years

as a Senior Project Engineer for their Complex Delivery Section. He won multiple Golden Globes for exemplary

performance while at JCI, along with the respect of all those he worked with. He was certified in literally

everything. He could solve any problem he was handed.

Somewhere in the middle of all of that Bill moved with his family to Johnston County, where he lived for nearly 30

years.

Bill gained a second family later in life when he married his wife Christine in 2009. He loved his bonus kids

Shannon and Jason as his own, and he was proud to be their step-dad. Bill and Christine had just celebrated their

15th wedding anniversary.

Bill enjoyed many things - loud music, 3 fingers of good bourbon with a cigar on the front porch, horror movies

and chicken wings - but his favorite thing to do was ride. When he was in the wind, he was at peace.

Bill left behind many people who loved him. He is survived by his father, Ralph Alexander (Doris); brother, Wade

Alexander (nephew Dane); his daughters, Ashley Schaeffer (Josh), Melissa Castonguay (Jimmy), and Kimberly

Klemm-Smith (Robert); grandson Adam Klemm-Smith; bonus daughter Shannon Huggins (Tyler); bonus son Jason

Bolyard; and his wife, Christine, who loved him through to her soul. He also leaves his brothers and close friends

from the Rattlesnake Chapter of the Punishers LEMC, and his HopeFront Church family. We all love him and will

miss him always.

Bill’s family and friends will honor him with a memorial gathering and ride and his ashes will be released to the

wind, where he will be free forever. We ask you to consider a memorial donation to one or more of these important

non-profit organizations:
