Raleigh, NC - William Ronald Hartsfield, III, 32, entered the arms of Jesus Thursday afternoon, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 17, 1992, to William Ronald Hartsfield, Jr. and Janet Faircloth Hartsfield, William's life was filled with joy, perseverance, and God's Faithfulness. A beloved son, brother, and friend, he touched so many lives with his kind heart and unwavering spirit. His contagious smile and signature high-fives were constant reminders of his ever-present joy - because to William, there were no strangers, only friends he hadn't met yet.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Brandon Ennis; his maternal grandmother, Donna Barbour; grandfather, Leonard Faircloth (Linda); his aunt Flossie Millard (Tim); his best friend and caregiver Carlton McDaniels (Director, Able To Serve); Pastor Matt Fry (good buddy and God Warrior); along with extended family and many friends who cherished him deeply.
From the very beginning, William's life was a miracle. Doctors once said he would never go to school, never walk. In 2014, he graduated from Garner High School and spent the next 11 years as a beloved participant at Able To Serve in Garner, where he built deep friendships with classmates and teachers who shaped his life.
William was born with an extremely rare medical condition, one so uncommon that only a handful of people in the U.S. had ever been diagnosed with it. Doctors gave him little hope of survival. Yet, for 32 years, William proved that God had a different plan. Against all odds, his life became a testament to resilience, faith, and the power of unconditional love.
He reflected Jesus' love in everything he did, showing others how much he cared without ever speaking a word. Worship brought him the greatest joy, and every Sunday at HopeFront Church in Clayton, you could find him up front, lifting his hands, smiling, and giving high-fives to everyone around him. And today, in heaven, he's doing the same - only this time, the smiles are bigger, and the high-fives are even higher.
William's family is deeply grateful for the nurses, doctors, and the many different caregivers who poured their hearts into his care over the years, working tirelessly to help him thrive in every way possible. There are too many to name, but you know who you are, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Most of all, we thank Jesus for the incredible gift of William's life.
A time of visitation to celebrate William's life will be held on February 17, 2025, from 11:00AM to 1:30PM with a funeral service following at 2:00PM at HopeFront Church, 8246 Cleveland Road, Clayton, North Carolina, 27520, where loved ones and family are invited to gather, share memories, and pay their respects. The family requests casual attire, as William preferred not to dress up.
To honor William's legacy, donations may be made to Able To Serve (2100 Buffaloe Road, Garner, North Carolina 27529) or to HopeFront Church (Legacy Fund) (8246 Cleveland Road, Clayton, North Carolina 27520).
