William Harvey Lingerfelt

William Harvey Lingerfelt, Sr. 89, of Garner died Thursday, November 9, 2017. He was born in Raleigh  on May 12, 1928 to the late Marcus A. Lingerfelt and Edith Horton Lingerfelt. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Frances E. Lingerfelt in 2012; his sister, Ida Mae, and his grandson, Christopher Lingerfelt. He proudly served his country during WW II with the US Marine Corps. After service he begin his career as a pressman with several large newspapers in major cities in the US. He is survived by his sons, William H. Lingerfelt, Jr. and wife Johanna of Germany; John M. Lingerfelt and wife Frances of Garner; daughters, Carolyn M. Lingerfelt of Raleigh and Debra J. Coleman and husband, Daniel of Louisburg; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren brother, Williard Lingerfelt of Fl; and sister, Mary L. Lamb of Fl. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Burial will follow in Rolesville Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to NC Heart Association.
