William J. (Bill) Anderson

Raleigh - William James (Bill) Anderson, 79, died peacefully at home Saturday evening with his family by his side. Bill was a loving caregiver, teacher, coach, grandfather, and provider. Music one of his deepest loves, Bill met his wife of 52 years, Nancy, while conducting their church choir. Since then, he has shared his beautiful voice with us through many endeavors including over 10 years with the North Carolina Master Chorale and over 20 years with the Edenton Street United Methodist Church Chancel Choir. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 27, at 11 AM at Edenton Street United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Nancy T. Anderson of the home; daughters, Jennifer Hunsaker and her husband, David of Atlanta, GA, and Melissa Cassario of Raleigh; sons, Chris Anderson and his wife, Molly of Raleigh, and Stephen Anderson and his wife, Bridget of Raleigh; grandchildren, William Hunsaker, Abigail Cassario, Olivia Hunsaker, Jacob Cassario, Samuel Hunsaker, Ava Anderson, and Elise Anderson; and eight beloved grand dogs. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Tuesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the music program at Edenton Street United Methodist Church, 228 W. Edenton Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.
