William J. "Bill" Bowen

ANGIER – William J. “Bill” Bowen, 78, passed away at his home on Thursday with his loving wife by his side. Born in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late Clyde J. Bowen and Mary A. Bowen.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 20th at Kennebec Baptist Church, Angier. The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.

Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rebecca “Becky” Berry Bowen; daughters, Windy Gale Stout (Wesley) of Cary, NC, and Lisa Dawn Altman of Fair Bluff, NC; brothers, Thomas A. Bowen (Sharon) of St. Albans, WV, and Carl J. Bowen (Robin) of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Jacob West, Matthew Stout, Austin Bowen-Altman, and Nathan Connor Altman; and great-grandchildren, Faith Sironi, Asa West, and Jaden Enriquez.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brianna West; and a sister, Carol Jean Brannon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kennebec Baptist Church Building Fund, 9808 Kennebec Church Rd. Angier, NC 27501 or Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle Raleigh, NC 27607 in Bill’s memory.
