William “Bill” Jennings Price, Jr, 72, of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away on November 28, 2024, after an extended illness. Bill was born on November 29, 1951 in Gastonia, NC; the son of William Jennings Price, Sr, and Ann Spargo Price. He graduated from Hunter Huss High School in 1969, then went on to East Carolina University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1974. Bill spent his career in chemical sales with Texize, EZE Products, Intex Products and Calvary Industries.
Bill devoted countless hours to community service and philanthropy. While at ECU, he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and served as Sergeant at Arms of Theta Pi as well as House Manager. After graduation, Bill began volunteer work with Kappa Sigma National as a District Grand Master. He went on to be awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for his volunteer work and he was Jackson’s Man #108. Bill was a member of the Hiram 40 Masonic Lodge, the Raleigh Scottish Rite, and Amran Shrine.
Bill married Beverly Petty on October 20, 2010. They enjoyed spending time with family, relaxing at North Myrtle Beach, and watching the Wolfpack.
Preceding Bill in death are Mother, Ann Spargo Price, and Father, William Jennings Price, Sr.
Remaining to cherish Bill’s memory are his loving wife, Beverly Price; step-children, Jim Petty (Hannah) and Sarah Petty Faucette (Justin); godson, Chase Stell; grandchildren, Madison, Carter, Scarlett, and Elliot; siblings, Steve Price (Liz), Craig Price (Kim), and Lee Price Martin (David); and nieces and nephews, Stephen, Eric, Madison, Chandler (Austin), Evan (Matt), Price (Katherine), Lauren, and Devon.
The family has made funeral arrangements at the Bryan-Lee Funeral home in Raleigh. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm on December 14, 2024, followed by a service at 2:00pm.
Honorary Pallbearers will be David Holland, George Gardner, Page Riley, Kevin Murray, Greg Sparks, John Staley, Ras Homes, Mike Deutsch, Derick Close, the brothers of Hiram 40, and Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be directed to the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund (1610 Scottsville Rd Charlottesville, VA 22902) and First United Methodist Church of Gastonia (190 E Franklin Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28052).
