William Leon Hobson

CLAYTON - William Leon Hobson, 78, passed away Thursday morning. Born in Craven County, he was raised in Raleigh at the Methodist Orphanage. Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean War. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 2:00 pm at Amelia Christian Church, 1696 Amelia Church Road, Clayton. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Cecily H. Hobson; daughters, Lynn H. Sears and husband, Jim of Raleigh and Star H. Fowler and husband, Jim of Garner; son, Chris Hobson of Moncure; brothers, John R. Hobson and wife, Julia of New Bern and Leroy Hobson and wife, Marie, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Casie Sears Kerr and husband John Kerr, J. Ryan Sears, Meghan, Christa, and Alissa Hobson, Emily, James and Joey Fowler.
