CLAYTON – William L. Gaddess, 68, passed away Friday, February 8, 2019. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Saint Mary Mother of the Church in Garner. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Clayton. William was born in Oil City, PA to the late Robert and Helen Clark Gaddess. He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife of 28 years, Karen Josephine Gaddess; daughter, Stephanie Lambert and husband, Andrew of Emlenton, PA; grandchildren, Allison Lambert and Benjamin Lambert; brothers, Dennis Gaddess and wife, Patricia of St. Louis, MO, Kevin Gaddess and wife, Jina of Oil City, PA; and his nieces. William joined the Army Reserves for 6 years in 1969. He worked at Pennzoil Refinery from the early 1970’s until its closing in 1999. In 2001 William moved to Raleigh, NC and was employed by the Department of Agriculture and Motor Fuels, from which he retired in 2011. William was a member of the Pulaski Club in Oil City, PA. In his spare time, William could be found enjoying a variety of activities; He was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed NASCAR, jogging, and collecting and restoring antique clocks and pocket watches. William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be dearly missed in the days ahead.
