William Steel Lane, Jr.

William Steel Lane Jr, more commonly known as Buddy, passed away on December 2nd, 2022 at the age of 62. Buddy was the son of William Steel Lane Sr and Sarah Ann Lane. He lived in Garner and attended Garner Senior High School. Buddy served in the United States Marine Corp and retired from North Carolina Department of Transportation as a Program Coordinator after 20 years.

During his life, Buddy devoted his love to his daughter, who was his pride and joy. Buddy enjoyed riding motorcycles and horses and could often be found on one of the two. He was a one-of-a-kind man with a contagious laugh that could make anyone smile.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Britney Marilyn Guin (Matthew); one grandchild, Adilene Grace Guin; his sister and two brothers, Shelby Jean Lane Payne, Carl Gene Lane Sr (Kim), and George William Lane (Julie).
