William Thurman Grubbs

May 14, 1926 — October 22, 2015

Cary – William Thurman Grubbs, 89, a retired US Postal Service inspector, passed away Thursday, October 22.  Mr. Grubbs served his country as a US Marine during World War II.  He was a long-time member of Crabtree Valley Baptist Church and a member of Hiram 40 Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Edna Maynard “Johnny” Grubbs; his son, Thomas A. Grubbs and his wife, Jeannie, of Pittsboro; and a grandson, Charles  S. Adcock. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26, at 11 AM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh.  Burial with military honors will follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 AM until 11 AM.
