Willie Gertrude Poarch

Willie Poarch, a.k.a. Bugs, beloved Mama, Nana, Sister and Aunt, passed on Friday, April 22nd, 2022 at Duke North Raleigh after a battle against breast cancer at the age of 78. She was born on May 7, 1943 in Lincolnton, North Carolina to Willie and Ollie Williams and spent a majority of her life there. She spent most of her life working in textile mills and taking care of the elderly. She was a great woman that loved her family, friends and the Lord. She loved to laugh and enjoyed life and knew that having a good time was spending time with those who loved her. She loved working puzzles, coloring pictures, and reading her Bible. She is survived by her Daughter, Hope Poarch of Garner; Sister, Peggy Willis of Lincolnton; Granddaughters, Crystal Rothrock (Mike) of Lincolnton, Nicole Puckett of Smithfield, Ashley Rodgers (Joel) in South Korea, and Tara Daniels (Bobby) of Vass, her "Mighty Dog" Bandit as well as numerous numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Willie touched so many lives and brought smiles to everyone who crossed her path. She will be tremendously missed by everyone who’s lives she touched. She was proceeded in death by her mother, her father, and her son William "Pepper" Poarch, who passed April 23, 2009. Willie was living with her daughter, Hope Poarch, before she went to be with the Lord. Since her life was in 2 places the family has opted for 2 services. The Celebration of Life Service in Clayton will be on April 30th, 2022 at Hope Church at 1696 Amelia Church Road, Clayton NC 27520 at 3:00 p.m.. The Celebration of Life in Lincolnton will be on May 7th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., at New Life Foursquare Church, 441 E. Rhodes St. Lincolnton NC 28092. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 at the church. There will be a dinner following and the family asks for those who would like to bring a side dish or dessert.
