Wilma Franks Denton

Wilma Faye Franks Denton, 82, died Wednesday at her home. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Odie and Eda Honeycutt Stephenson. Wilma was a longtime member of Vandora Springs Freewill Baptist Church, where she thought so much of the members and Pastor Jerry. She was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Vandora Springs Freewill Baptist Church, Garner. Burial will follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30-2:00 pm, prior to the service. Survivors include her daughter, Regina Pollard of Fuquay-Varina; sons, Steve Franks and wife, Dru of Louisburg, Ron Franks and wife, Chris of Vass and Greg Franks and fiancé, Erica Morris of Mt. Olive; two special friends that were like her children, Jackie Duncan and Jimmy Thompson; brother, Otis Stephenson;11grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alicia West, as well as her sweet, special canine companion, Sandy. In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husbands, Hubert Penny Franks, Needham Turner Pollard and Grover Lee Denton; sisters, Norma Cates and Sue Stephenson; brothers, Bobby Stephenson and Glenn Stephenson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vandora Springs Freewill Baptist Church, 1521 Vandora Springs Road, Garner, NC 27529.
