b. May 11, 1928

RALEIGH - Wilma Marcom Jordan, 82, of 11132 Jordan Road, died Tuesday as the result of a car accident on the way to her WMU program. Wilma was born May 11, 1928, the twin sister of Billy Marcom. She is the daughter of the late Willie and Susie Marcom of Angier. She grew up on a farm in Johnston County, one of the Marcom Girls and a celebrated member of the Cleveland School Class of 1947.She married Thomas Jordan on March 28, 1948 and moved to the Panther Branch Community. Wilma retired as an Eligibility Specialist with the Wake County Department of Social Services. After retirement, she became even more involved in the Fellowship Home Demonstration Club, where she was an active member for over 60 years. Wilma loved her family and dedicated her life to welcoming her family and friends into her home and creating memories for future generations to come. Whether it was a family celebration or a friend in need, you could always count on Wilma to be there with a large pot of her famous chicken pastry. In her last few years, we were all blessed as she reconnected with her former classmate, Earnest Holder. He was her beloved friend, who brought out her teenage spirit. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survived by her daughter, Angie Jordan Ennis; son, Jerry Thomas Jordan and wife, Gayle; grandchildren, Derek Ennis and wife, Laura, Jeff Jordan and wife, Amy; sisters, Louise Glisson, Mary Lee Williams, Shirley Byrd and Sue Jones and husband, Billy; brother, Billy Marcom and brother-in-law, Bruce Coats. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Jordan and sisters, Doris Carroll and Marie King. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM Thursday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1241 Fairground Road, Willow Spring, NC, 27592.
