ANGIER – Wilmar Kearney Pleasant, 90 died Saturday. She was the daughter of the late William Clarence and Annie Ginn Kearney. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joseph M. Pleasant, Sr. and siblings Osmond Kearney, Jerry Corbin, and Vera Jean Jewett. Wilmar graduated from East Carolina University and taught fifth grade in Harnett County for 27 years. Wilmar loved her family and friends dearly; delighted in having a twin sister and they enjoyed dressing alike even into their eighties. Wilmar is survived by three sons, Joseph M. Pleasant, Jr. and wife, Vicki of Charlotte, Ray K. Pleasant and wife, Madeline of Angier, W. Kenneth Pleasant and wife Cindy of Raleigh; twin sister, Illmar Nobles of Stokes, special niece Polly Galloway of Farmville who was like a sister; grandchildren, Dr. Nathaniel Kearney Pleasant, Dr. William Andrew Pleasant, Adam Langdon Pleasant, Jason Ray Pleasant, Tracy Pleasant West, Blair Charlebois, Travis Wegner, Mary-Kensley Pleasant, Coleman Elizabeth Pleasant; great-grandchildren, Waylon Lee Pleasant, Grayson Smith Pleasant, Riley Hana Pleasant, Madelyn Kate Charlebois, Preston Scott West. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Angier United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm in the fellowship hall at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Angier United Methodist Church.
