Yvonne Dolin Horne

GARNER – Yvonne “Sissy” Dolin Horne, 64, passed away June 25, 2018 at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh as a result of complications from diabetes. Born in Bladenboro, NC on February 24, 1954, she was the daughter of the late William Albert Dolin and Thelma McMillian Dolin Williford. Yvonne graduated from Massey High School in 1972. She then graduated from East Carolina University, and went on to obtain her Master’s Degree at Pembroke State University. On June 20, 1976, Yvonne married Kenneth Horne at Mount Carmel Pentecostal Church in Fayetteville, NC. She worked at Cumberland Mills Elementary School in Fayetteville, and later retired from the Governor Morehead School for the Blind in Raleigh, NC. Her retirement years were spent at home with her husband in Garner, Johnston County, NC. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Regan Sarah Irwin of Benson; son, William Harrison Horne at home in Garner; grandchildren, Noah Robert Kenneth Blair and Aidan Colin Blair of Benson. She is also survived by her stepfather, Ronald Williford of Fayetteville and her half-sister, Belinda Cruse of Dunn. In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline Dolin. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Monday, July 2, 2018 at Glad Tidings Church, 711 Fairground Rd., Dunn, NC.
