Zebedee Lassiter died on December 29 at the SECU Hospice, in Smithfield. Zebedee was a native of Johnston Co., born March 10, 1937 to the late Randle L and Irene Honeycutt Lassiter. At the age of seventeen he decided to seek a career in the United States Air Force, which he served proudly for almost 22 years. His career included tours in the Viet Nam War, England and the United States. After his mother became ill he returned to Durham to help with her care and worked with American Tobacco Company until they moved to Reidsville. Zebedee enjoyed meeting friends, loved his family, travelling and telling stories of his life adventures. At the age of 51 he met his wife Bonnie. It was then he got to enjoy things with a new purpose; sharing life with his soul mate. He loved gardening until his declining health made that difficult, dancing and playing poker with his community buddies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby and Billy Lassiter; sisters, Catherine Bissett, Ruby Lee Harrison and Joyce Lockamy. Surviving in addition to his wife; are his brothers Eugene Lassiter (Janice) of Raleigh, and Danny Lassiter (Jeanie) of Sedalia, MO., his sisters, Shirley Holloman (Earl) of Pine Level and Carolyn DePriest of Smithfield and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 12 Noon Thursday Jan. 3, 2019 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner, with Military Honors. There will be a Private graveside following. The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice or Able to Serve 2100 Buffaloe Rd. Garner, NC 27529.
