GARNER - Zilphia Virginia “Zip” Ratliff went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC. She was born March 21, 1923 to Herbert and Ella Eason Sullivan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Major Clarence C. Ratliff and daughter, Peggy Dotson. Mrs. Ratliff was the owner and operator of the Oddity Beauty Shop in the Oddfellows Building in Raleigh, NC, for decades.She was a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church. She taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and, worked in many other capacities of the church. Mrs. Ratliff was the President of the State Women’s Aglow Fellowship whose mission was to lead women to Jesus Christ. Mrs. Ratliff was preceded in death by brothers; Lester Sullivan, James Sullivan, and Joe Sullivan, sisters; Ruth S. Fowler, Lettie Sullivan, Pearlie S. Harrell, Pauline S. Stephenson, Ruby S. Bailey, and Zadie Belle S. Woodall. She is survived by stepdaughter; Teresa R. Chafey, son-in-law; Ken Dotson, godson; Ron Watts, and many nieces and nephews.
