Zula Coats Ennis

Zula Coats Ennis, 89, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday where she will be reunited with her beloved husband, Tom Ennis and her sisters, Flossie Stephenson, Alice Stephenson, Allene Stephenson, Eloise Ennis McAllister and Maxine Stephenson and a brother, David Edgar Coats, Jr.. Mrs. Ennis was a native of Johnston Co., and the daughter of the late Fannie Elizabeth Kelly and David Edgar Coats.She was a homemaker and spent her life cooking and looking after her family - being surrounded by family was her greatest joy in life.She was a charter member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Raleigh and a long time member of the Raleigh Shrinettes.Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12:00 PM at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1201 Maxwell Dr., Raleigh, NC with burial to follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.Survivors include her daughter, Vickie Ennis Sorrell ; son Dennis Ennis and wife, Marsha; granddaughter, Kristi Monahan and husband, Dan; grandson, Jason Mooneyham and wife, Lara, grandson, Derek Ennis and wife, Laura; and two great-grandsons, Michael Monahan and Justin Mooneyham, all of Raleigh; two sisters, Georgia Williams of Raleigh and Shirley Grissom and husband, Marshall of Garner, plus numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends, Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Rd., Raleigh, NC and at other times at 2921 Allenby Dr., Raleigh, NC.The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Wake County and to all the nurses and aides on Hall 4 East at Rex Hospital, The Oaks at Mayview, and the Heritage of Raleigh and to all our special friends who were there for us at this sorrowful time in our lives - we couldnt have faced this without you.
